When you join us for worship at Good Sam, expect to be present to God and to your neighbor. Expect to be warmly welcomed in the power of the Spirit. Expect to worship in prayer and in song. Expect for the presence of Jesus to be made known in bread and in wine that we receive as a community around the altar.

If you are new to worship in the Episcopal Church, we invite you to the full experience of our liturgical tradition. The liturgy is our pattern of worship, and we follow the Book of Common Prayer, the Hymnal 1982, as well as other worship and music resources.

The important thing to know if you are joining us for the first time is that you will be offered a worship bulletin as you arrive that includes all of the details of the service: the prayers, responses, Scripture lessons, hymns, etc. and whether to sit or stand. The bulletin is all you need to follow along and join in worship, and we worship as a community-so follow your neighbor!

In the Episcopal Church, we say, “All are welcome,” and we embrace this at Good Sam. Come as you are. There is no dress code, just the hope that you are comfortable while you are here.

If you have any questions before joining us, we invite you to call or email the office (865.693.9591; office@goodsamknox.org), and please feel comfortable asking questions of our greeters and ushers as you arrive (and of your neighbor once you are seated). We are all in this together, by the grace of God and to God’s glory.
