The Bishop’s Visitation, Confirmation, & Baptism

The annual Bishop’s Visitation is scheduled for May 5, the 6th Sunday of Easter. Annual Visitations are schedule almost a year in advance, and after our visitation had been set, a conflict arose for Bishop Brian Cole. His very good friend, Austin Rios (who happens to be a seminary classmate of Fr. Cal’s) was elected the Bishop of California and Bishop Cole was asked to preach at his consecration on May 4, which creates a conflict on the 5th.
But we’re in luck! Bishop Given Gaula, Bishop of Kondoa will be in Knoxville during this time and will be “standing in” for Bishop Brian in his absence. As many of you know, Bishop Given Gaula has been at Good Sam a few times before and we couldn’t be happier that he will be here confirming and baptizing on May 5!
Please make every effort to be here for this happy event in the lives of several folks at Good Sam – confirmands and baptismal candidates alike! Bishop Given will be at the 8:15 am service as well as the 10:30 am service. He will also hold a “Bishop’s Forum” during the Formation time in Henslee Hall.
There will also be a reception in Henslee Hall after the late service courtesy of the Daughters of the King.
